Dakine moves headquarters to the waterfront

Published June 18, 2013

HOOD RIVER, OR (BRAIN) — Dakine has moved its headquarters from downtown Hood River to a new waterfront development at the city's port. The company's new home is adjacent to a famous kiteboarding and windsurfing destination and minutes away from mountain bike trails. The new 25,000-square-foot building will include a rooftop garden and solar panels.

“The new office will allow our employees to focus on what they love most: designing and testing the best action sports accessories and gear on the planet,” said Chico Bukovansky, the company's national sales manager. “The space will afford us an opportunity to continue to expand and further cultivate our product development department.”

Besides the solar panels and rooftop garden — which is designed to deflect UV rays, facilitate storm water drainage and encourage natural biodiversity — the building's eco-friendly features includes a lighting system that maximizes use of natural light and efficient water features. The new space also features an expanded showroom for dealer visits.
