SAN RAFAEL, CA (BRAIN) Monday March 26 2012 9:04 AM MT—Proceeds from an online art auction will benefit the national nonprofit organization Trips for Kids.
License plate artist and former HGTV FreeStyle host Aaron Foster made the piece, which is a replica of the "Mad Men" TV show logo constructed with vintage auto license plates. The piece is signed by the entire cast and show creator Matthew Weiner.
"The bicycle has always been a huge part of my life. When you're a kid, the bicycle is freedom - it makes your world bigger and provides a certain level of independence," Foster said. "I'm a big fan of kids on bikes. I'm a big fan of 'Mad Men.' And I've been making license plate art for more than 10 years now, so why not combine all three to raise some money for a great cause?"
The auction will run through April 1, closing at 8:45 pm (EST), 15 minutes prior to the second episode of the show's fifth season. The auction is being hosted by eBay. On Monday morning, the leading bid was for $600.
