SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN) Monday March 19 2012 3:55 PM MT— Competitor Group Inc., which owns Velo magazine, VeloNews.com and a variety of other media and event properties, has announced some changes to its executive staff.
Scott Dickey has been named CEO. He was previously president and COO.
Steve Gintowt will take on the additional role of COO, in addition to his position as CFO.
Peter Englehart will continue as the company’s chairman and in his long-term role as an operating partner of Falconhead Capital, CGI's owner.
“Since the company’s formation over four years ago, we set out to develop a superior management team to lead the direction and expansion of CGI,” said David Moross, chairman of Falconhead Capital.
“Our success in large part is due to the team of dedicated employees we have recruited and retained as the engine of our organization."
Club Ride adds staff
KETCHUM, ID (BRAIN) Monday March 20—Club Ride Apparel has added an account service manager and a marketing & PR manager.
New account services manager India Wysong founded Mud Honey Cycling, a socially-minded women's mountain bike racing team. Since meeting almost ten years ago, Club Ride founder Mike Herlinger and Wysong have been good friends.
"It's exciting to have India on board and get to work with her on a professional level after so many years riding together," noted Herlinger.
New marketing & PR manager Ben Bradley is new to the bike industry, with experience that ranges from promoting motion pictures for Warner Brothers and Paramount in Chicago, to marketing a top-tier baseball club in New England.
"I'm very fortunate to get the opportunity to work with such a new and promising company," said Bradley. "We're growing every day, and I am thrilled to be along for the ride."
Yakima joins New Belgium Urban Assault Ride series as sponsor
BEAVERTON, OR (BRAIN) Monday March 19 2012 4:13 PM MT—Yakima has signed on as a sponsor of this year's The New Belgium Urban Assault Ride, which makes stops in ten US cities from February through August.
The Urban Assault Ride, now in its ninth year, is a fun bike-based timed race that sends teams to checkpoints around the host city.
The Yakima checkpoint challenge at each race is dubbed "Yakima Chopsticks." Pairs of riders hold the ends of Yakima crossbars, balancing a ball on top. Then, without dropping the ball, they have to navigate through a course, stepping over and under hurdles and flags.
