X-Fusion Settles Into New Home

Published November 3, 2011

SANTA CRUZ, CA (BRAIN)—X-Fusion may have gotten the heave-ho from its digs in Santa Cruz, California, after only a year there, but the company seems to be making the best of the situation.

After all, X-Fusion received generous relocation assistance when city officials wanted the company out of its former space to make way for a new sheriff’s station. “We invested all that money into the new building,” said X-Fusion general manager Joel Smith.

And while the new location across town makes for a slightly longer commute for some employees, there are benefits as well—not the least being able to coast down the driveway to prime Santa Cruz trail riding. “You can be on single track trail in 15 seconds and ride five hours on nothing but single track,” said Smith.

On Oct. 31, X-Fusion began operating out of a new 6,000-square-foot space—an increase of 40 percent—with a vacant 10,000 square feet next door that Smith has his eye on for future expansion. The new location houses X-Fusion’s R&D, U.S. OEM sales, product marketing, domestic sales and engineering management. And then there’s the test riding of its suspension products and adjustable-height seatposts on all that glorious single track.

“We’re all here because the riding is incredible,” Smith said of Santa Cruz’s abundance of mountain bike companies.

X-Fusion’s new address is 155 DuBois St., Santa Cruz CA 95060. The phone number is (831) 221-5047.
