LOUISVILLE, KY (BRAIN)—Olympic and world championship track medalist, Erin Hartwell, has joined the North American Handmade Bicycle Show in the new position of sponsorship manager.
Hartwell currently runs Athletics Cubed, Inc., a sports management company based in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania. Prior to this, after ending his professional cycling career in 2001, he occupied high-level coaching positions before a three-year stint as the president and CEO of the Velodrome Fund, Inc. a non-profit that manages the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, owned by Lehigh County.
During his time at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center, Hartwell increased its annual revenues by over 50 percent, partly by innovative naming rights initiatives and enhancing the sponsorship programs.
NAHBS founder and president, Don Walker, said, "I am very pleased to have my good friend Erin Hartwell join the NAHBS family. Erin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in sponsorship sales and account management. His communication skills are very warm and welcoming, which makes him a perfect fit for dealing with potential show sponsors. I am confident of an even brighter future for NAHBS with Erin on board."
Erin Hartwell said, "It's a genuine privilege to work with one of the premier, and more innovative, cycling shows. Don and I have talked at length about the NAHBS sponsorship program and we both feel that now is a good time to see what we can collectively do in our shared interest of providing the best possible service to the cycling community. I greatly look forward to boosting sponsorship sales for the 2012 show, while concurrently helping to improve the long-term quantifiable value of our corporate partnerships."
