SEYMOUR, CT (BRAIN)—Thule's 60-liter rolling upright bag with detachable race pack has won the prestigious Gear of the Year award for bags by Outside Magazine. The 16th annual awards selected products that were the most innovative, most durable and most stylish available on the market.
"The TCRU-2 60-liter upright is an impressive debut," said Outside Magazine Buyer's Guide editor Sam Moulton. "It was the little things that won us over like the crushproof and removable gadget compartment. And how well the detachable daypack carried. But, in the end, we were most impressed with how sleek and indestructible it is."
Thule Travel Gear continues to get media attention. The Outside Magazine award complements the first place award in the prestigious Product Innovation Award at the 2011 Travel Goods Show in Chicago in early March this year.
The Thule Crossover Collection contains 13 unique pieces designed for the active traveler. Most pieces in the line feature a crush-proof Safe Zone that provides an extra level of protection for fragile items such as goggles, sunglasses, phones and cameras.
”This great honor is a testament to our global product development team and process. We take the time to fully understand the consumer’s needs and the market. This attention to detail produces world-class products that are trusted by consumers everywhere,” said Karl Wiedemann, Thule’s channel marketing and communications manager.
