BLOOMINGTON, MN (BRAIN)—Quality Bicycle Products will no longer offer walk-in registration for its annual Frostbike gathering due to an at-capacity crowd expected in Bloomington later this month.
Registration filled in record time for Frostbike this year. QBP initially offered 800 slots to retailers for its annual gathering at its headquarters in Bloomington, Minnesota. It opened an additional 75 spaces last Thursday, and those were gone by Friday morning.
Frostbike, three days of tradeshow, seminars and tours of QBP’s LEED-certified offices and distribution center, opens on Feb. 18.
“This kind of response is unprecedented in the history of our event,” said Steve Flagg, president of QBP. “We believe this level of interest among bike dealers indicates the health and vitality of our industry. Increased sales here at QBP suggest that bike dealers have growing confidence in the economy.”
Because of the large expected turnout, walk-in registration will not be offered during this yearʼs event. In the past, dealers located near QBP were allowed to sign up the day of Frostbike.
QBP will host an additional event this summer at its new facility in Ogden, Utah. At the July 23-25 event, select dealers will have an opportunity to demo 2012 offerings from QBP’s bike brands.
