Interbike Expands Partnership with BPSA

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (BRAIN)—Interbike has expanded its partnership with the Bicycle Products Suppliers Association (BPSA) in which it will work closely with them in determining future show strategies and to help the trade organization grow its membership.

As part of that effort, Interbike is offering an 8 percent discount in booth fees to all exhibiting BPSA members, according to a press release.

"The BPSA provides a broad range of services to its members and benefits the industry as a whole," said Andy Tompkins, Interbike show director. "Over the years the BPSA has lobbied the government on key issues, fought important legal battles pertaining to product standards and annually provides valuable sales trend information to the industry. Member dues are still an obstacle for some brands, so we are offering this discount as a benefit to existing members, and as an incentive to encourage potential members to join."

Besides being a long time member of the BPSA, this is the first time Interbike has formed a formal partnership with the organization.

"I think we can all agree the BPSA is an essential industry organization and increased membership engagement will make it even more effective," said John Nedeau, president of BPSA. "The new partnership with Interbike will help us provide additional services benefiting BPSA members and is a creative way to help members justify dues. The expanded membership base just makes us a stronger association, allowing us to become more responsive to the needs and interests of the members, and represent the industry more effectively across all areas: legal, tariff, safety, standards, statistics and advocacy alliance."

In addition to the BPSA member discount, for the third show in a row, Interbike will not increase booth space fees for the OutDoor Demo and Interbike Expo. The pricing is in effect for the September 2011 edition of the show and applies to all exhibitors.

"We know trade show expenses can comprise a large portion of exhibitors' annual marketing budgets. We work hard to maintain the expenses we have control of, and for the last two shows have kept exhibit space fees flat," Tompkins said. "To help exhibitors' 2011 budgets go a little further, we're pleased to be able to keep our pricing unchanged for next year's show as well."
