KAILUA-KONA, HI (BRAIN)—The Ford Ironman Demo Days saw roughly 10,000 attendees check out the latest and greatest product offerings from the world of triathlon.
Demo Days took place October 5 – 8 as roughly 70 brands were represented including Cervelo, who won the Kona Bike Count yet again this year with 468 (see below for total tally). Last year, Demo Days featured 40 exhibitors.
“Every vendor sees triathlon as a growing segment with no signs of slowing,” said Mary Miller, who works with Wattie Ink., the company that handled promotions and sales of Demo Days. “The numbers have shown it this year with a significant increase in number of athletes participating in Ironman events all around the world. Nearly every Ironman and Ironman 70.3 has been sold out.
“With the Ford Ironman Demo Days sold out this year in record timing, vendors plan to be back with a more significant presence in 2011,” Miller added.
Chris McCormack took home the Ford Ironman World Championship trophy this past Saturday, finishing in 8 hours, 10 minutes and 37 seconds. The 37-year-old had won the championship in 2007 as well.
