NORTHVALE, N.J. (BRAIN) — Jamis is releasing some of its new 2017 models early, including the Nova Cyclocross Series and Renegade Adventure Series. These models are expected to be in stock by early August; most other Jamis 2017 model year bikes will be available in September.
For 2017, the Renegade Adventure Series includes five models: two carbon fiber, two steel and one aluminum.
The carbon fiber models are led by the Renegade Elite, which retails for $3899. It features an Omniad M30 monocoque frameset with Near Net molding process and new Size Specific Design (SSD).
It includes 12mm thru-axle front and rear, Shimano BR-RS805 hydraulic 160mm disc brakes and Shimano Ultegra 11-speed mechanical drivetrain. American Classic MTB RACE tubeless wheels are paired with Clement X Plor MSO 36c tires.
Other Renegade models include the carbon fiber Renegade Expert with an MSRP of $2,699, the Reynolds 631 double-butted steel Renegade Exploit at $2,099 and Reynolds 520 double-butted steel Renegade Expat at $1199.
Rounding out the line is the 6061 aluminum Renegade Exile with a MSRP of $799.
The Expat (shown above) has Reynolds 520 double-butted SST chromoly main tubes, 44mm head tube for tapered fork, threaded BB shell, seatstay disc brake mounts, toptube-mounted full cable housing, three waterbottle mounts, rack and fender eyelets, and clearance for 40c tires. The fork is a Jamis Adventure ECO monocoque carbon composite, 12mm Jamis MTS (Modular Thru-axle System) with stainless interface and carbon dropouts, tapered steerer with 1.5-inch hollow formed crown, disc brakes with internal cable routing, exposed fender, lowrider and water bottle eyelets.
The bike includes WTB i23 STP rums with Formula hubs, Clement X’Plor MSO tires, Shimano Tiagra derailleurs and shifters, FSA Gossamer MegaExo cranks, and TRP Spyre mechanical disc brakes.
It’s available in sizes 48, 51, 54, 56, 58, and 61cm. Claimed weight is 24.25 pounds.
