CHIUDUNO, Italy (BRAIN) — Kask's new mountain bike helmet, the Rex, is designed for trail riding, enduro, cross-country racing and casual offroad riding.
It has 20 vents for maximum airflow at slow speeds and warmer climates, complemented by frontal pads with new technology to encourage sweat evaporation.
The in-molded helmet offers extended head coverage from the Lower Occipital bone in the rear and added temporal coverage in front.
The helmet weighs 290 grams. It also features a removable multi-position ratcheting visor and integrated goggle retention clip at the rear. There is a Lux Leather chinstrap and integrated top-mount action camera mount which is easily removable. The visor and goggle clip are made from plastic polymer, and the visor screws are made from aluminium.
"We are proud to introduce the new Rex helmet. To make this we have undertaken extensive research and testing in laboratory conditions and out on the trail. We are trying to do the same kind of job in the MTB discipline as we did with Team Sky on the road helmets. We have also taken feedback from high-level mountain bikers from around the world and across the disciplines; they have all contributed to enhancements and developments to make the best MTB helmet possible," said Diego Zambon, Kask's general manager.
The Rex will be available throughout Europe and North America by Christmas. It comes in two sizes and four colorways: lime, light blue, red, and white.
