Michelin enduro tires features 'cuttable' tread design

Published September 30, 2013

LAS VEGAS, NV (BRAIN) — Michelin's new Wild Mud Advanced Reinforced tire is intended as enduro tire for muddy conditions. It features a tread design that makes it easier for riders to cut the tread lugs for improved performance on mixed or dusty conditions.

Michelin's patent pending tread design includes a reference point at the lower part of the tread lugs so that riders can consistently and quickly trim the lugs. The lugs themselves feature Michelin's "twisted" design, which the company says  untwists when the tire contacts the ground, helping to eject mud.

Besides the cuttable feature, the tire includess Michelin's enduro-specific Magi-X rubber compound, and its Reinforced casing, which has an additional layer of protection that extends from one bead to the other to help prevent pinch flats.

The tubeless-ready tire is available in a 2.25-inch width in 29-inch or 26-inch diameter.
