Wilier offers new 29er hardtail

Published September 11, 2012

BOULDER, CO (BRAIN) — Wilier Triestina will introduce a new carbon 29er hardtail at Interbike next week. The company said the new frame is cross-country thoroughbred with a few features that will appeal to trail riders.

The 101XN is all carbon with asymetric chainstays, a tapered steerer tube and internal cable routing that can accommodate electronic wiring (does Wilier know something we don't?).

The frame has replaceable dropouts with options for quick release, single speed, and thru-axle configurations.

There are standard and direct-mount rear derailleur options, integrated chain catcher and drive side chainstay protection, and post-type disc brake mounts.

The frame has a slightly curved seat tube for improved tire clearance.

It's designed around an 80mm travel fork. U.S. MSRP, for frame only is $2,599.
