FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — SRAM is updating its first road group, called Force, with improved chainrings, shifters and rear derailleurs, the company announced Wednesday.
SRAM is trickling down technology from its 2012 top of the line Red parts. The compay said prices will not change on the updated Force parts.
Force is borrowing technology from Red's chainrings, to improve shifting and durability. Force shifters are getting SRAM's "Zero-Loss" technology, which provides an immediate shift with no wasted lever throw.
The Force rear derailleur is all new, with a mid-cage design and "Aeroglide" pulleys, which are said to quiet the drivetrain. The company said the new rear mech also is lighter, but it didn't specify by how much.
