SAN DIEGO, CA (BRAIN)—Fallbrook Technologies has teamed with Perfect Sport International (PSI) to meet increased demand for bikes equipped with the company’s NuVinci N360 CVP transmission and NuVinci Harmony drivetrain.
PSI has offices in Taiwan and China and will assist Fallbrook with sales and business development and all technical and training aspects around the use of NuVinci. The company is headed by Scott Hong.
“The growth of NuVinci products globally and the reliance on Asian OEMs and factories requires a focused local team to assist our business with technical and sales support in this important and strategic region of the bike business,” said Al Nordin, president of Fallbrook’s bicycle products division, in a press release. “PSI’s significant bicycle industry experience, specifically in Taiwan and China, will help make our global organization stronger.”
The NuVinci CVP is spec’d on more than 40 bike brands, including Breezer, REI Novara, Jamis, Dahon and Merida.
Harmony works in conjunction with the NuVinci N360 drivetrain and is designed for the e-bike market. European bike brands TDR, Panther, Union and Simpel are among the brands that have Harmony-equipped e-bike models under development for 2012.
