WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Todson is recalling about 6,500 Nerf Barrage youth bike helmets because they don't comply with Consumer Product Safety Commission retention system requirements.
No injuries nor incidents have been reported. The helmets are blue/orange, black straps, an orange buckle, and are size medium. "NERF" is printed in white lettering on the sides. Model 6011 is printed on a label on the inside. The lot number (LOT#) and reference number (REF#) can be found on the same label. Only helmets with LOT# BC01BJ01-200623 and REF# 5382-BL and LOT# BC01BJ01-111521 and REF# 4970-BL are affected.
Consumers should stop using these helmets and contact Todson Inc. for a refund. To receive the refund, consumers should cut off the straps, photograph the helmet, and email it to Todson. After submitting proof of destruction, consumers should dispose of the helmet. Todson is contacting all known purchasers directly.
The helmets were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com from January 2022 through May 2024 for about $30.
