TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN)—Ying-Ming Yang, the chairman of Kenda Rubber, has been elected to a second three-year term as chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters Association.
The personable Yang, who built Kenda into one of Taiwan’s biggest tire companies, is the public face of the island nation’s bicycle industry.
The association also expanded its board of directors to 27 members and nine supervisors, up from 23 members and seven supervisors.
At its recent annual meeting, association members had a brief discussion about moving the dates of the Taipei show but made no decision. Yang said the association expects to consider the matter at its next board meeting, scheduled for Feb. 22.
Yang said the board met with Walter Yeh, executive vice president of the agency that runs the Taipei Cycle show, to discuss show dates and other issues concerning the trade show.
