Upway trade-in program now available at Rad Power Bikes' US locations

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Upway's trade-in program is now offered at Rad Power Bikes' eight U.S. RadRetail locations, offering customers the option of selling their e-bike or receiving a discount on a new model.

Rad Power Bikes' retailers will use Upway's real-time pricing tool to obtain e-bike values. The used e-bikes are transported to Upway for refurbishment and resale and come with a one-year warranty, supporting a "commitment to sustainability and a circular economy, where certified e-bikes are resold instead of disposed of, cutting down on the environmental impact associated with production and disposal," said Maxime Renson, Upway general manager.

The trade-In program is available at RadRetail locations in Seattle; Salt Lake City; Denver; St. Petersburg, Florida; and California stores Berkeley, Santa Barbara, Huntington Beach, and San Diego.

"This partnership empowers us to offer more riders a seamless, efficient, and accessible way to upgrade their e-bikes using Upway's cutting-edge tools and resources," said Pete Boudreaux, Rad Power Bikes vice president of customer operations and supply chain.

Upway also operates in France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands and sells online from under $1,500 to over $3,000. It was started by former Uber executives Toussaint Wattinne and Stephane Ficaja. It buys bikes from individuals, retailers' overstock, rental companies, and distributors. It also has a trade-in tool on its website.

A year ago, Upway announced a $30 million Series B investment, doubling the brand's total funding to $60 million.
