DENVER (BRAIN) — The first national e-bike trade show announced Wednesday that the National Bicycle Dealers Association and PeopleForBikes will partner with the event.
The (e)revolution show taking place next year will donate a portion of exhibitor booth sales to each group to support their advocacy work. Lost Paddle Events, which owns the Big Gear Show, is organizing the show.
"The NBDA is pleased to be a partner in this revolutionary conference," said NBDA President Heather Mason. "We look forward to working united with PeopleForBikes to create opportunities for attendees to collectively learn about regulation, risk, advocacy, and innovation around this growing segment of our sport. Education tracts for retailers will focus on timely topics, including profitability, retailer best practices, and technical certifications."
Education is a foundational objective of (e)revolution in addition to providing retailers and consumers the opportunity to meet directly with e-bike brands and suppliers.
"Since the introduction of e-bikes over 20 years ago, the cycling industry has continuously needed to adapt and address the impact of these products," said Lance Camisasca, (e)revolution show director. "Both NBDA and PeopleForBikes are on the leading edge at providing robust education and with their partnerships. They can greatly improve the understanding and knowledge of e-bikes for both shop owners and cyclists."
(e)revolution will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver on June 8-11. Exhibitor and retailer registration will commence in late August 2022.
"Our work on electric bicycles includes everything from increasing access and adoption to product regulation to incentive programs and policies, allowing PeopleForBikes to provide attendees with timely and relevant education and data presented by industry experts," said Jenn Dice, PeopleForBikes president and CEO.
In addition to the Big Gear show, Lost Paddle produces four paddlesport industry trade events. Camisasca directs the bike aspect at the Big Gear Show and is a former director of the Interbike Expo.
The second edition of the Big Gear Show is being held Aug. 2-3 in Park City, Utah. The event is expected to host about 200 total brands from 145 registered exhibitors. Exhibiting bike brands included Aventon, Bianchi, Highway 2, SRAM, Pinarello, Tern, Yakima, QuietKat and Diamondback.
