DENVER (BRAIN) — Alchemy Bikes reported the theft of two high-end bikes from its showroom here that are collectively valued at $20,500.
Based on security camera footage, Alchemy said two males walked through the parking lot adjacent to the showroom on Feb. 18 at about 5 a.m. They were seen talking about the bikes and then pried open the showroom door. Security footage also showed them riding away on the bikes:
- A sand-colored Arktos 135 XT mountain bike with Shimano XT components and Fox Factory suspension, valued at $6,999.
- An eRonin gravel e-bike featuring a Praxis and Shimano drivetrain and carbon wheels, and a Harlequin custom paint job with a blue-green design, valued at $13,500. Its battery was not charged.
According to Alchemy, police responded within minutes and were provided serial numbers.
"It's always so unfortunate when bikes are stolen, no matter if it's a bike that belongs to a consumer who spent hard-earned money or a brand who has taken so much time to thoughtfully manufacture it," said Jason Armknecht, Alchemy Bikes general manager. "We're hoping that by putting the news out about this theft, it might be able to attract attention to these two uniquely styled bikes."
Anyone with information about the theft or has seen the bikes is asked to contact Denver Police at (720) 913-2000.
