FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Eurobike will open Wednesday for the first time since 2019 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of last year's in-person event.
COVID concerns still are affecting this year's event, with travel restrictions and Delta variant spread keeping some industry stalwarts home. Those attending in 2019 but not attending this week include Bianchi, Fox Factory, Wahoo Fitness, Lezyne, Zwift and SRAM. Inventory challenges also were another reason given for some brands saying home.
The 29th event, which will conclude Saturday, will feature 630 exhibitors from 42 countries. Some of the industry's latest products will be on display on more than 860,000 square feet of floor space at Messe Friedrichshafen.
This will be the final show at Eurobike's longtime home on Lake Constance after it was announced in June the move to Frankfurt next summer.
