BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — PeopleForBikes is conducting a survey to build a more inclusive and anti-racist industry.
Details of the industry-wide survey were emailed Tuesday afternoon. PeopleForBikes will benchmark member experiences, perspectives and competencies on racial and mobility justice. Steps afterward include resources, training, and a Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Advisory Board.
The deadline for completing the survey, which PFB estimates will take 7-10 minutes, is Sept. 4. All responses will be anonymous.
"PeopleForBikes is committed to listening, learning and taking action to build a more inclusive and anti-racist bike industry," the email read. "We know that bikes won't solve racism in America, but we do know that in order to help solve the larger issue, we can start with where we have the most influence. We identified a need to better communicate why this work is not only the right thing to do, but is also vital to the future of bike riding, the bike industry and bike advocacy."
Survey results will be shared in aggregate form with PeopleForBikes leadership and board, members, and subcommittees.
