The show goes on for CABDA East, to be held with virus precautions

CHICAGO (BRAIN) — Organizers of next week's CABDA East trade show say the event will be held as scheduled with some new precautions because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The event will be held at the Meadowlands convention center in Secaucus, New Jersey.

"Based on our conversations with both the state and local health departments, we’re going ahead with CABDA East as scheduled," show director James Kersten told BRAIN on Tuesday. "Our plan is to have hand sanitizers all over the show, to clean all the touch points more frequently, and to hand out mini hand sanitizers at the door. We don’t have the same concerns that an open to the public show might. As long as people use healthy habits, we’ll all be fine.”

"We will continue to assess the situation based on information available through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) in determining the most effective precautionary measures to take on-site," CABDA said in a press release Wednesday.

"While we are learning of show postponements or cancellations in some industry sectors, many US-based events have experienced minimal impact from Coronavirus."

The show will have mandatory hand sanitizer stations at the entrance to the venue for all attendees and exhibitors. Additional sanitizer stations will be available at registration, throughout the venue, in common areas, and in all restrooms.

The show said it will frequently sanitize surfaces like door handles, public spaces, and restroom facilities.
