LAGUNA HILLS, CA (BRAIN) — Bicycle Retailer international editor Nicole Formosa is leaving to join Bike magazine as managing editor. Her last day with BRAIN will be Jan. 18.
Formosa, a former newspaper reporter, moved from Colorado to California to join the magazine as staff writer in 2008. More recently she stepped up to international editor and expanded the magazine’s coverage of emerging markets including Southeast Asia, China and Latin America. Over the past two years she traveled extensively to Asia and Europe to attend trade shows and report on global economic trends and currency fluctuations impacting industry suppliers.
“Nicole combined her news instinct and love for travel in her in-depth reporting over the past five years. She was a great asset to our editorial staff and though we’re sad to see her move on, we know she will be a great addition anywhere she goes,” said editor Lynette Carpiet.
“I am grateful for the opportunity I've had to learn the ins and outs of the industry covering stories all over the world,” Formosa said. “I am leaving with broad knowledge of the global bicycle business, a solid network of industry connections and a very full passport. I will miss working with the BRAIN team, but look forward to new adventures ahead.”
Bicycle Retailer soon will hire a reporter to join its editorial staff in Southern California.
