MONTREAL (BRAIN) — Dorel Sports revenue was up 7.4% in the second quarter, to $241 million, according to a financial report Friday from Dorel Industries, the company's parent.
Dorel Sports contains the company's bike brands, Cannondale, Schwinn, Caloi, GT, Mongoose and KidTrax.
SAN MATEO, Calif. (BRAIN) — GoPro Inc. revenues increased by 3% to $292 million in the second quarter compared to the same period last year.
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Emerald Expositions Events, Inc., the parent company of the Outdoor Retailer trade shows and the on-hiatus Interbike show, saw revenues increase 31.4% in its second quarter, which ended June 30. Net income was up 93.2%, to $11.4 million for the quarter.
BRASELTON, Ga. (BRAIN) — Fox Factory Holding Corp. reported that sales in its Specialty Sports Group — its bike-related business — were up 3.1% in the second quarter, which ended June 28. The Specialty Sports Group includes the Fox, Marzocchi, Easton cycling and RaceFace brands.
OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) —Garmin Ltd. posted record second-quarter revenue of $955 million, an increase of 7% over the prior year's quarter and raising revenue expectations for the rest of the year.
OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — Shimano's net sales in its bicycle components division were up 4.1% in the first half of its fiscal year, which ended June 30. Operating income in the division decreased 3%, however.
HEERENVEEN, Netherlands (BRAIN) — Accell Group N.V. reported total group revenues of 683 million euros ($766 million) in its first fiscal half, up 7.4% from the same period last year. Net profit for the group was up 16.5% to 29.7 million euros.
NEW YORK (BRAIN) — DICK'S Sporting Goods showed improvement in its first quarter, exceeding forecasts and raising its full-year guidance. The retailer reported net sales of $1.92 billion, up 0.6% over the same period last year.
TAICHUNG, Taiwan (BRAIN) — Giant Manufacturing registered first quarter sales of NT$14.69 billion ($467 million), up 5.2% compared to 2018's first quarter.
ANOKA, Minn. (BRAIN) — Vista Outdoor, Inc. is continuing to back away from its previously announced plans to sell off its Bell and Giro businesses.
BRASELTON, Ga. (BRAIN) — Fox Factory's bicycle business, through the Fox suspension, Marzocchi suspension, RaceFace and Easton cycling brands, was up 12.7% in the first quarter this year, to $65 million. The company also said equipping e-bikes will be a bright spot for Fox in the next two seasons.
OLATHE, Kan. (BRAIN) — Garmin Ltd. reported record first-quarter revenue of $766 million with its fitness, outdoor and aviation divisions collectively increasing 12% from the prior year's quarter.
Its fitness sales numbers, which include cycling products, climbed 8.57% (from $166 million to $180 million).
OSAKA, Japan (BRAIN) — High-end bike sales in North America and e-bike sales in Europe helped drive sales increase. Losses from a March 2018 factory fire remain significant, however.
