PETALUMA, Calif. (BRAIN) — Upscale mountain bike clothing maker Kitsbow is working with glove maker Mechanix Wear on a new line of mountain bike gloves that will be launched later this year. Kitsbow plans to offer two models of riding gloves with Mechanix branding.

STOCKHOLM (BRAIN) — MIPS and POC Sweden say they have agreed to settle a legal dispute over intellectual property used in ski and bike helmets. The companies say they have agreed to work together to develop safer helmets.

ZURICH (BRAIN) — Andreas "Andy" Rihs, the owner of the BMC bike company and its pro race team, died Wednesday at age 75, according to the brand. Reports say Rihs was suffering from cancer.

NEW YORK (BRAIN) — Less than a month before the event, Bike New York has announced that it will move Bike Expo New York to Pier 12 in Brooklyn. Due to unexpected maintenance, the nonprofit was unable to obtain a permit to hold the event at Basketball City, where the event has taken place for the last six years.
