The Program that Brought you ZANA and Mystery Tour Accepting Applications Through December 1, 2024

PHOENIX - State Bicycle Co. is excited to announce the 2025 "State Bicycle Co. Presents" Grant Program. The initiative is designed to support independent filmmakers and cyclists by funding 3-5 films each year, providing cash awards up to $5,000 and equipment to amplify diverse voices, celebrate cycling culture, and highlight the adventurous spirit that defines State Bicycle Co.

Applications for 2025 grants are open through December 1, 2024, and can be submitted here.

The first film produced through the program, "Mystery Tour: Bikepacking Through Japan," created by Kyle Aldridge and Jake Bleggi of RMBLN Media, follows four friends as they embark on an unpredictable bikepacking journey through Japan, showcasing the beauty of spontaneous travel, scenic landscapes, and the camaraderie that comes from exploring the unknown on two wheels.

The second and most recent film, "ZANA: Women of the Little 500," was directed by Grace Williams and Emily Segura Maze and features the Melanzana women's Little 500 cycling team on their quest for a historic three-peat. The Little 500, held annually at Indiana University, is one of the most iconic collegiate cycling races in the U.S., made famous by the classic film Breaking Away. More than a sports documentary, ZANA delves into gender equality, female empowerment, and the strength of community within competitive cycling.

The State Bicycle Co. Presents Grant Program is designed to encourage cyclists and creatives to share their unique perspectives, whether it's through bikepacking, fixed gear riding, or documenting the cycling culture of their hometown. Recipients will be provided with the resources needed to bring their vision to life, including funding, top-of-the-line equipment, and promotional support through State Bicycle Co.'s networks.

"It's such an honor and so much fun to see these films come to life and be able to support the teams making them happen," said Mehdi Farsi, co-founder, State Bicycle Co. "Film has been part of our DNA since the very beginning, and we want to carry that forward and encourage others in the cycling community to bring their creative visions to life."
