East coast-based Conte's Bike Shop is pleased to announce that FERNANDO AVALLONE has joined our management team as Store Manager in Ft. Lauderdale, FL at 1739 East Sunrise Boulevard.
In addition to his work in motor sports with the likes of Emerson Fittipaldi (A1GP) and Pietro Fittipaldi, Fernando has served as the Latin America and Caribbean Sales and Marketing Manager for GT Bicycles while he was based in Santa Ana, California, the Assistant Manager and Coordinator of trials and shows for the Volvo- Cannondale Mountain Bike Racing Team in the 1994 World Championships, the National Delegation Director of the Brazilian Cycling Federation team for the UCI Worlds MTB Championships 1994 which to this day remains as the best overall historical result for the Brazilian National Team. Most recently for Brazilian product MTB90, Fernando managed a sponsorship project involving a 2x Olympic Gold Medalist and a 5x World Champion, along with a content production program, at top UCI World Cup Mountain Bike events in Europe and North America. He has provided TV studio "live on air" color commentary at ESPN Brazil for the 2000 Olympic Games in road, track, mountain bike and triathlon events, and has contributed in English and Portuguese for sports magazines in the US, Brazil and Europe such as Velo News, Bike, Competitor, California Bicyclist, Dirt Rag including covering races in the Pan American Games, World Triathlon and MTB Championships, and Hawaii Ironman events since the 1990s.
