LOUISVILLE, Colo. — PEARL iZUMi, the world leader in cycling apparel and footwear, today debuts its Spring 2021 collection, featuring a range of new and revamped styles and key technologies designed to provide maximum comfort, performance and style for riders across all categories. With its new collection, the brand furthers its commitment to sustainability, continuing to incorporate recycled, renewable and organic materials throughout the product line – with a goal to feature sustainable content across a full 90% of its lineup by next year -- and implementing new eco-friendly technologies such as bluesign® APPROVED GoFresh, an anti-odor treatment that enables riders to reduce laundering.

“As we continue to lean into our sustainability initiatives and broader Social Purpose goals as a brand, we’re using more sustainable materials across our lineup than ever before,” said Andrew Hammond, Director of Brand Marketing for PEARL iZUMi. “We’re proud to provide riders with gear that not only makes them feel good, but that they can also feel good about wearing. From road to trail to commute and everywhere in between, our new Spring 2021 collection truly offers something for everyone.”

On the road side, PEARL iZUMi’s form-fit, wind-cheating PRO Mesh Jersey ($150) has been redesigned for 2021 for both men and women. The ideal performance top for pushing limits in hot and humid weather, this jersey is enhanced with sweat-activated In-R-Cool® technology to improve thermoregulation, keeping riders cooler, dryer and more comfortable. Additionally, GoFresh technology keeps them feeling fresh, and enables the garment to be worn multiple times between washes. The same technologies can be found in the new Transfer Mesh Short Sleeve ($65) and Sleeveless ($55) base layers, perfect for layering under any high-performance kit to help regulate body temperature, control moisture and maintain comfort across a broad range of temperatures. The Women’s Transfer Mesh Tank ($55) also makes a statement, featuring a bold new ‘Sugar Skulls’ colorway. Meanwhile, the new Classic Jersey ($85) is made from 100% recycled material. Featuring a lightweight, fast-drying mesh fabric and three bellowed rear pockets for storage, this value-packed jersey is available in sizes up to 3XL on the men’s side and XXL for women.

Designed with gravel riders in mind, the Expedition Bib Short ($125) and Expedition Short ($100), available for both women and men, are ideal for big adventures. With low-profile cargo pockets on the thighs and lower back for easy access to smartphones, snacks or tools, these styles give riders the flexibility to wear any top they prefer, without worrying about carrying capacity. With a compressive Elite Transfer fabric made from recycled content, a plush and breathable Elite Escape 1:1® chamois and a convenient drop tail feature on the women’s bib, the Expedition short series is primed for long days in the saddle.

For mountain bikers, the new Men’s Summit Button Up Shirt ($75) provides a fresh, fun and relaxed style, without skimping on technical performance. Mountain-bike friendly features, such as shoulder seams strategically positioned for comfort when wearing a hydration pack and stretch-woven polyester sleeves to improve airflow, are coupled with a high-performance Transfer Mesh fabric for maximum breathability, while GoFresh tech fights off post-ride funk. For women, the new Summit Shell Short ($100) was thoughtfully designed by women who ride. Its lightweight, stretch-woven fabric is both breathable and durable, and also made from recycled materials. A 10-inch inseam offers ample coverage for low-profile kneepads, while bold ‘Sugar Skulls’ and ‘Dark Ink’ prints help riders stand out on the trail. Meanwhile, the do-it-all Women’s Journey Short ($80) has been redesigned this season, with a wide, yoga-inspired waistband that won’t pinch or chafe, a durable stretch-woven nylon and a floating liner short that provides compression and stay-dry performance. While it’s made for riding bikes, the Journey Short is ready for any active endeavor.

In the brand’s steadily growing BikeStyle line, new styles geared toward casual riding and everyday wear alike enable riders to show their love for cycling both on and off the bike. Offering a low-key look with technical performance features, the Men’s and Women’s Midland Graphic Tees ($45) and Women’s Midland Graphic Tank ($35) are equally ready for lounging or riding. Made from recycled polyester fibers, these styles feature soft-yet-technical fabric knits that offer breathability, moisture wicking and a 30+ UPF rating, with unique ride-inspired prints and graphics. Likewise, the Men’s Rove Shirt ($70) features new prints that speak to a passion for bikes, while serving up style that transitions seamlessly from bike commute to workplace. Strategically patterned shoulders allow for an easy reach to the handlebar, while BioViz® reflective elements provide low-light visibility.

Also expanding is PEARL iZUMi’s Junior lineup, which boasts all-new Junior Summit Tops ($45) and Summit Youth Knee ($50) and Elbow Guards ($40). Featuring all the same technology and materials as the brand’s adult protection line which debuted last spring, the new downsized youth guards use D30® viscoelastic inserts to absorb impacts and a durable, four-way stretch Cordura® nylon with elastic grippers to help ensure the pads stay comfortably in place while pedaling. Designed for juniors ages 9 to 14, the guards are available in three sizes. Likewise, the Junior Summit Top offers all the same features of the adult version it’s modeled after, ensuring the next generation of rippers receives all the performance benefits they deserve. Constructed from a 95% recycled polyester mesh Transfer fabric, this versatile mountain bike jersey is lightweight, breathable and fast-drying.
