Swagtron's new full-size $1,000 e-bike will be sold exclusively by Best Buy

DENVER (BRAIN) — Swagtron has announced its first full-size e-bike, the EB12 Electric City Bike. The brand has previously offered only compact and folding e-bikes.

The EB12 pairs a diamond aluminum road frame and 700c wheels with a 250-watt hub motor and 7-speed Shimano drivetrain. Riders can engage the motor with a thumb-actuated lever on the handlebar or via "pedal to go" mode. The EB12 is capable of up to 28 miles per charge and a top speed of 16 mph using throttle only.

"Our folding e-bikes have been extremely popular," said Swagtron CMO Jason Wakefield. "But the compact design isn't for everyone. We wanted to bring the look and feel of a classic road bike into the 21st century by pairing it with the ease of use and efficiency of an e-bike while keeping it affordable. The EB12 is that bike."

The flat-bar bike will retail for $1000 and be sold initially through Best Buy online and through some Best Buy locations exclusively.

The bike will be available with a 52 cm frame. It has an aluminum frame and steel fork, 700x25mm tires, a LCD backlit display, 36V 7.5Ah Li-ion battery (lockable + removable), and safety bell. It weighs 39.24 pounds
Max rider weight: 264 pounds
