Eurobike announces product awards

And the winners are…

FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, Germany (BRAIN) — Messe Friedrichshafen recognized 61 products with Eurobike Awards at the end of the show yesterday. Ten of those recipients took home a gold. This year the competition drew a record high number of entries with 496 products from 30 different countries.

“As the hosts of this competition, we are, of course, very happy about the high number of participants. It is certainly proof positive that the Eurobike Award has established a solid position as a seal of quality for innovation and good design in the bicycle industry,” said Wolfgang Köhle, press spokesperson and member of the Messe Friedrichshafen Management Board.

Winners of the Gold award were: Niner’s RIP 9 RDO full-suspension mountain bike, Factor Bikes’ Factor Vis Vires racing bike, COBOC eCycle single-speed pedelec, Riese und Müller’s blueLABEL Charger urban bike, Adidas’ Adizero ss cycling jersey, Cervélo’s Rca racing frameset, Brooks England’s Cambium C17 saddle, Benchmark Drives’ Conti drive system drive belt, Ortlieb’s Back-Roller High Visibility bike bag, and Abus’ In-Vizz helmet.

The competition is conceived and organized by iF International Forum Design. Categories included mountain, ‘cross, racing, urban, special bikes and e-bikes/pedelecs; apparel; parts/components and accessories.

Entries were evaluated on aerodynamics, efficiency, ergonomics, functionality, weight, utility, design quality, degree of innovation, comfort, load-carrying capacity, brand value/branding, choice of material, service, safety, stability, environmental compatibility and workmanship.

Gold award honorees and other Eurobike Award winners’ products are on display near the West Entrance of the Messe.
