PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — Advanced Sports Enterprises has added industry veteran David Wang to its executive team as vice president of purchasing.
The position is new to ASE and entails working with the product groups and merchant teams at Advanced Sports International, Performance Bicycle, and Nashbar to manage current purchasing processes and procedures. Wang will report to Patrick Cunnane, the CEO of ASE.
Wang has worked for Ideal Bike Corporation for 20 years as executive vice president focused on U.S. market sales and foreign bicycle parts and components purchasing. Prior to that, he worked at Union Group Corporation as a bicycle, parts and accessories buyer for Coles/Kmart Australia.
"With his background and expertise in the bicycling industry, both domestically and internationally, David will develop closer relationships with our vendors, many of whom he has worked with for decades," Cunnane said.
Wang will be based in Taichung, Taiwan, with frequent visits to ASE's offices in North Carolina and Philadelphia, the company said.
ASE was formed a year ago when ASI purchased Performance and its associated brands. ASE now oversees ASI, wholesaler of Fuji, Breezer, Kestrel, Oval Concepts and Tuesday Cycles. Performance is the retail arm of ASE.
