BOULDER, Colo. (BRAIN) — Camber Outdoors is launching its first-ever fund drive Tuesday in partnership with #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving. The organization joins other bike-related non-profits, including Trips for Kids, which has participated in Giving Tuesday for several years.
Camber Outdoors — formerly the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition — is celebrating 20 years of "directly linking the impact of women business leaders on the inclusion and increase of women and families participating in the outdoors."
The fund drive, which is planned to become an annual event, is named "Shape the Future." Donations will be used to accelerate the growth and impact of the organization's work and will have an immediate effect on Camber Outdoors' ability to create and develop strategic programs to their full potential, the group said.
Julia Day, Camber Outdoors' board chair and NPD Group senior executive director of sports, said, "I've been honored to be a part of Camber Outdoors' board of directors for several years and have seen the transformation and impact of the programs on individuals at every stage of their career path, from first job to senior leaders.
"We're very grateful and encouraged by the strong support we've seen from individuals – men and women – in all facets of the bike and outdoor industries to expand Camber Outdoors' positive impact."

Trips for Kids also is inviting supporters to make charitable donation on Tuesday. The 28-year-old organization helps kids from varying backgrounds get out on a bike.
"Here at Trips for Kids, we are blessed to see firsthand the lasting impact that one bike, one trail ride, one mountain and one great experience in nature can have on youth who otherwise would never have such opportunities. These are the kinds of wonderful gifts that keep on giving," the organization said.
