Halo USA rolls out Shopatron store • Competitive Cyclist tapped to build Olympic bike

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (BRAIN) Friday July 13 2012 9:46 AM MT—Wheel seller Halo USA is launching an online store that will allow its retailers to fulfill orders through Shopatron's system.

Halo started in the UK in 1998, and specializes in dirt jumping and 4-cross racing wheels. It has expanded to offer cross-country, 29er, road and urban wheels and products. The company plans to introduce BMX and 650b products in 2013.

The brand's US importer is BTI.

“Until now, Halo has been something of a cult brand in the US,” said Bill Lane, BTI's marketing director.

“There is a following, but it has not always been easy for cyclists to gather information about the products – let alone find them at their neighborhood bicycle shop. Our partnership with Shopatron is key in our strategy to grow brand awareness in the USA and to do it in a way that encourages purchases through a local dealer.”

Competitive Cyclist tapped to build Olympic bike

PARK CITY, UT (BRAIN) –Competitive Cyclist, the online specialty retailer based in Salt Lake City, Utah, has been selected by Orbea USA to build 4-time Olympian Hunter Kemper’s triathlon bike. Orbea informed the shop of the news on June 28.

“We’re very honored to have the privilege of building Hunter’s Olympic triathlon bike,” the retailer said in a statement. “To be entrusted with the assembly of what may amount to as the single most important bike in an Olympic triathlete’s life underscores the quality of the people at Competitive Cyclist, and the faith a brand like Orbea has in them.”
