ORONO, MAINE (BRAIN)—Fietsmarkt, a trade magazine for Dutch bicycle retailers, has again organized a tour of bicycle and accessory manufacturers in China from November 5 - 13, 2011. The Light Electric Vehicle Association is helping to promote the tour.
The group will start in Shanghai, China, and then fly to Shenzhen, China, to visit Tristar (producer for Fallbrook Technologies), Bafang Motor Company (electric bike motors), Willex (bicycle bags), Champion-Sys (bike wear), Dahon (folding bicycles and electric bicycles), JD Components (TranzX electric bike PST factory) and Colossi Cycling (frames). They will end in Hong Kong before departing back home. Additional sponsorship slots are still available.
Dealers in North America will depart from either San Francisco or Los Angeles on November 5. For those departing from San Francisco, the double occupancy fee is $2,875 (or an additional $800 for a single) and for those departing from Los Angeles the double occupancy fee is $3,015 (or an additional $800 for a single room). The prices are all inclusive including the international airfare ticket, hotel rooms, the inland flight (Shanghai-Shenzhen), taxes, bus transfer, and breakfast, lunch and dinners.
"It’s a perfect networking event. Besides visiting interesting factories, you will also meet Dutch bicycle retailers and can share experiences on each other’s markets,” said Arnauld Hackmann, editor in chief of Fietsmarkt. “I have organized previous trips to both Taiwan and China in the past and dealers are always excited because they can experience firsthand the manufacturing processes themselves. They could not organize this by themselves and it’s a golden opportunity to talk directly with people from the factories.”
