Titus: Official Whiskey Off-Road Sponsor

Published March 15, 2009

TEMPE, AZ (BRAIN)—Titus Cycles has signed on to be the official bike sponsor of Epic Rides' 6th Annual Whiskey Off-Road bike race taking place on April 25, 2009.

The Whiskey Off-Road is an endurance mountain bike event based in the heart of downtown Prescott, Arizona, next to Whiskey Row. The Whiskey route takes riders through the scenic 1.25 million acre Prescott National Forest and riders may choose to enter three different distances, from the 15 proof fun ride to the 25 and 50 Proof routes that appeal the more ambitious participants.

“We wanted to be part of Whiskey Off-Road because the race has really become a must do event on the Arizona mountain bike calendar,” said Jeff Titone, marketing director at Titus. “The energy that Todd Sadow and the entire Epic Rides crew puts into the race resonates in the community, and that’s reflected in the phenomenal buzz Epic Rides events gather. These guys are doing it for all the right reasons to have a great time, in an awesome place, amidst even better people.”

The Whiskey Off-Road has also become a prime example of the local community embracing the sport of mountain biking and pulling its resources together to help progress the cycling scene. In addition to the support of Arizona-based Titus, the city of Prescott has opened the doors to its community for this event and Phoenix based-band Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers has recently joined on to offer a free community concert for the post ride party.

“We can’t wait to introduce the music portion and send this thing into orbit,” said Todd Sadow, president of Epic Rides, Inc. “Our intent is to create the perfect destination for desert dwellers to escape the onset of the summer heat with a healthy outlet in the mountains of Prescott. Nothing beats the opportunity to spend a day in the saddle of a bike and an evening on the courthouse lawn with great live music.”

Festivities begin Friday April 24 and the riding kicks off at 8 a.m. the following morning on Goodwin St. at Whiskey Row.
