TESSENDERLO, Belgium (BRAIN)—After many years of successful collaboration, Ridley Bikes (Race Productions NV) have mutually decided to end their partnership with Sinclair Imports, announcing QBP as the new distributor starting June 1, 2009.
“Sinclair has been a strong partner to Ridley, helping to establish the brand in America," said Ridley director Jochim Aerts said. "We thank the Sinclair team for their commitment to Ridley and we wish them all the best for the future. America has the potential to be our No. 1 market, and as such we need to have a wider distribution network in place. QBP’s impressive logistics structure and business acumen will take us closer to achieving our goals.”
Sinclair has also been in discussions with other bicycle brands and will announce more information shortly, according to Sinclair director Lance Donnell. To ensure a smooth transition of stock, Sinclair will continue to supply '09 models up until May 31.
The world leaders in 'cross will be launching the new 2010 cross range at QBP’s Frostbike show in February, with stock being available from QBP in June '09. The range sees Ridley being the first to introduce cross models with 1.5-inch oversized headtubes for improved handling and new mud clearance technology. The 2009 collection will also be on show including their flagship models the Noah and Dean which feature Ridley’s patented aero technology R-flow jet foils and R-surface paint.
2009 is an important year of building the foundations for the brand’s future with the four-year sponsorship of the new Katusha team and important internal investment. This year sees a move to a larger premises and the introduction of a new computer system that will enable Ridley to respond quickly to market demands and increase their level of customer service.
