All classes of e-bikes soon could be legal in the state of New York.

ALBANY, N.Y. (BRAIN) — Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced his plan Thursday to make e-bikes and e-scooters legal in New York, following the release of his executive budget two days ago.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (BRAIN) — Quality Bicycle Products stopped shipping from its Minnesota distribution center following a fire Jan. 16 in a trash compactor connected to the building. No one was injured in the fire, but inventory and shipping materials were exposed to smoke.

UPDATED: WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed a Phase 1 trade agreement with China and said he will reduce recently imposed tariffs on some bike products from 15% to 7.5%. Trump's tariffs on most other bike-related products remain at 25%.
