COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (BRAIN) — Borealis Fat Bikes, which has sold fat bikes since 2013, is launching the Keystone, its first Class 1 electric fat bike. The bike features SRAM's new Eagle GX Transmission and the Shimano EP8 drive unit and battery.
"Electric bikes will continue to stimulate growth within the bicycle industry. And the Keystone bolsters our commitment to growing the fat bike category," said Steve Kaczmarek, the CEO of Borealis Fat Bikes. "This has been a highly anticipated product and we are thrilled to finally show off years of hard work in the making".
The Keystone has a 6000-series aluminum frame with smooth welds and internal cable routing. The Keystone frame will initially be offered in Gunmetal Grey with oversized Cobalt Blue graphics.
It is spec'd with a Manitou Mastodon Pro suspension fork with 120mm of travel and a KS Lev Integra dropper post. Borealis Carbon handlebars, Ergon Grips and a WTB Volt saddle also feature. Customers will choose from a handful of wheel and tire options to complete their build.
The Keystone is now available worldwide for pre-order at authorized Borealis dealers and online. Shipments are expected to start in late September 2023. More information: fatbike.com.
