ATLANTA (BRAIN) — Wahoo released two new products this week, the POWRLINK ZERO pedal-based power meter and the dual-roller KICKR ROLLR smart trainer.
The power meter is based on the dual-entry Speedplay road pedal system and is available in single-sided and dual-sided options. Wahoo says the POWRLINK ZERO pedals have the same +/-1 accuracy of its KICKR smart trainers. The pedals also feature a rechargeable battery providing 75 hours of ride time and connect to third-party apps and devices via ANT+ and Bluetooth and have compatibility with the Speedplay Zero cleats.
The pedals weigh 250 grams for single-sided ($649.99 MSRP) and 276 grams for dual-sided ($999.99 MSRP).
The KICKR ROLLR features the natural feel of rollers with the benefits of controlled resistance and connectivity. It's designed to accommodate a range of frame and tire sizes. A quick-release adjustable wheelbase clamp makes it easy to take bikes on and off, ideal for those wanting to quickly transition from indoor training to riding outside, as well as for households where multiple riders use the same trainer.
The trainer can serve as a warm-up platform before events or training sessions. This is especially useful for track cyclists or professionals who may not be able to make changes to their equipment after pre-race bike checks. The KICKR ROLLR also connects to bike-mounted ANT+ power meters.
The KICKR ROLLR has an MSRP of $799.99 or $1,399.99 bundled with the POWRLINK ZERO single-sided power meter. The pedals and trainer are available at WahooFitness.com or through authorized Wahoo retailers.
