Diamondback adds e-bikes to its line, launches 'Get Amped' campaign

KENT, Wash. (BRAIN) — Diamondback Bicycles, a brand owned by Alta Cycling, has unveiled its 2021 spring e-bike collection, which includes four new models back by a new "Get Amped" marketing campaign. The bikes will be available online at diamondback.com and in Diamondback retailers nationwide. Dealers can participate in Diamondback's omni-channel distribution program.

The four models are the first e-bikes for the Diamondback line, although Alta has long experience with e-bike with its iZip, Raleigh and Haibike brands.

"Our four new e-bikes will hit a sweet spot in the Diamondback lineup, with a solid combination of high-performing components, a streamlined design and unmatched versatility. With options for a wide variety of users, in terms of both end-use and price point, we're really pleased that these bikes will be at the forefront of Diamondback's foray into the e-bike market."

The Response is a Class 3 e-bike with a 350w Bosch Performance Speed (28mph) motor and a 10-speed Shimano drivetrain, Magura hydraulic disc brakes and plus-size Schwalbe tires mounted on tubeless compatible 27.5-inch wheels. The bike has a 120mm travel RockShox Judy Gold fork. $4,100 MSRP.

The Union 1 offers an aluminum frame with internal cable routing, a Bosch Performance Line Speed (28mph) motor and a Powertube integrated 400wh battery. It features a Bosch Purion on-board computer, 10-speed Shimano drivetrain, Tektro hydraulic disc brakes and wide tires on 27.5-inch wheels. It comes equipped with an integrated rack and fenders. $3,500 MSRP.

The Union 2 is a fully loaded commuter e-bike powered by a Bosch Performance Line Speed (28mph) motor and a Powertube 500wh battery. It has an integrated Bosch Kiox on-board computer that is compatible with Bluetooth heart-rate monitors. Built on a polished aluminum frame with internal cable routing, it has a 10-speed Shimano drivetrain, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, wide tires on 27.5-inch wheels and built-in lights and integrated rack and fenders. $4,100 MSRP.

The Current has a 500wh Powertube integrated Bosch battery, Shimano 11-speed drivetrain, Maxxis Rambler 700x40c tires, and drop handlebars. $4,100 MSRP.

The "Get Amped" campaign pays homage to the electric guitar and the rock and roll history of Alta's hometown of Seattle. The campaign launched April 5.
