ANOKA, Minn. (BRAIN) — Vista Outdoor's Action Sports segment — which includes its Bell, Giro, Blackburn and Quietkat businesses — saw a sales increase of 9% year over year, the company announced.
The division's sales totaled $104.6 million in the second quarter of its fiscal year, up from $97.4 million the same period last year.
Vista's CamelBak business is in its Outdoor Recreation division, where sales were up 10% in the same period. Sales in Vista's Shooting Sports division were up 49%.
Company-wide, Vista's sales were up 35% in the quarter, to $778 million. Net income was $139 million, up 118%. Earnings per share for the quarter was $2.43.
"During the second quarter, each of our segments grew creating a new high-water mark for quarterly sales which rose 35% on top of a record second quarter last year and marked our fifth consecutive quarter of record financial performance," CEO Chris Metz said.
"We've also completed a total of six acquisitions in 14 months, reflecting the strength of our acquisition pipeline and internal deal execution capabilities," Metz said. The acquisitions included e-bike brand Quietkat, announced in May.
The company forecast full-year sales of $2.9 billion to $2.95 billion, up 30% from fiscal 2021.
