NEW YORK (BRAIN) — As part of its LyftUp initiative, Lyft will provide free access to its bike-share programs in three metropolitan cities for health-care workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In New York, the hardest hit area in the U.S., Citi Bike announced the formation of the Critical Workforce Membership Program, which provides first-responders, health-care workers and transit workers a free month of bike-share access.
In Chicago, bike-share network Divvy offers health-care workers free access through April 30. For other riders needing to complete essential trips, the network will discount single-price rides from $3 to $1, and annual membership will be cut in half ($99 to $49.50).
In Boston, Bluebikes bike share started a program giving health-care workers a free 30-day membership.
