PHILADELPHIA (BRAIN) — This weekend's Philly Bike Expo will include about 200 exhibitors — many of whom are promising new product launches at the event, which organizers are billing as a hybrid consumer/trade show. The show announced last month it had sold out its exhibitor space.
While most visitors buy entrance tickets on site, pre-registration ticket sales are up 25% over last year, organizer Bina Bilenky said.
Bilenky said some brands are seeing the show as a launchpad for the time between Eurobike and Sea Otter. For example, Wahoo Fitness will show its KICKR Bike, introduced at Eurobike, for the first time in the U.S. Giordana is showing its 2020 apparel line, including its first triathlon collection. VAAST is showing off its complete line of magnesium-framed bikes for the first time and Wolf Tooth Components is launching some new nickel-plated components, including seatpost clamps and chainrings.
The show holds industry-only pre-show hours, from 9-10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. Industry members, including retailers, vendors and reps, must register in advance to gain admittance to the pre-show hours. Industry registration closes Thursday, Oct. 31 at 12:00 p.m. There will be no on-site industry registration.
