Unique cargo carrier manufacturer partnering with agency to tap into outdoor audiences
New Braunfels, TX -- November 16, 2021 -- PAKMULE, the maker of hitch-mount cargo carriers, has retained Asheville, NC-based Darby Communications as its PR agency of record. Effective immediately, Darby Communications will work with PAKMULE to introduce their lineup of cargo carriers, attachments, and accessories to a larger audience while amplifying their presence in the outdoor industry.
Frustrated by the cargo carriers and hitch racks on the market at the time, Kansas Sartin built the first PAKMULE Original cargo carrier in 2012 as an easier and safer way to load and access cargo. Inspired by the rigging on his coastal fishing boat, his creation featured curved edges, lightweight aluminum construction, and easy, secure access to gear. After years of keen interest from fellow adventurers who saw his creation, Sartin launched the actual brand in 2017 with the mission to design gear to help people get away from it all and focus on the things that matter most: quality time outdoors with friends and family.
The PAKMULE Original is a 100% aluminum, TIG-welded hitch-mount cargo carrier boasting nearly 12 square feet of cargo space. Weighing a mere 42 lbs, yet burly enough to haul 500 lbs of cargo, it features a patented anti-wobble, locking design, which ensures that cargo stays safe and secure, even on the rowdiest roads. PAKMULE’s carriers also include the Sway-Back, with a lower rail height to accommodate 35″ spare tires, swing-open doors on vans, tailgates on 200-series Land Cruisers, and other space restrictions above the receiver hitch without needing a hitch extension. Rounding out PAKMULE’s carrier lineup is the Ridgeline, ideal for UTVs and Trail Running Jeeps, as well as sedans and SUVs with low hitches.
This year PAKMULE also debuted a line of attachments compatible with their carrier lineup, including the Rod Holders, Tail Light, Stirrup detachable step, Decking panels, and Bike Bit, which allows you to carry bikes as well as gear on your PAKMULE carrier. PAKMULE also offers three product packages: the Rod Rack, with a carrier plus two or four rod holders; the Porch, which includes a carrier, plus three or seven pieces of decking, plus a Stirrup; and the Bike Rack, which includes a carrier and three Bike Bits.
Everything PAKMULE manufactures is made in the U.S.A., and 70% of the aluminum used to make their carriers is recycled.
“We’re excited to start our work with PAKMULE,” says Angie Robinson, Vice President of Darby Communications. “With their inventive product designs, commitment to sustainability, and passion for inspiring others to get outside, PAKMULE aligns with our values and our client roster. We look forward to helping them heighten their visibility to a wider audience and grow their customer base.”
